Responsibilities:
* Provide ICD-10 Coding education to physicians - create their own classes and provide content/material that goes out to groups of physicians on ICD-10 Coding best practices.
* Work one on one with physicians when new sets of codes come out to make sure the doctors know what to put in.
* Provide documentation and coding education as part of new provider onboarding and orientation for physicians and practitioners.
* Handle escalations from the coding team on queries - for example, a provider says I don't want you to put that code on it, I want you to put this code on it, this person educates the doctors accordingly.
* Perform coding, billing and documentation audits for accuracy of ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS codes, modifiers and charges.
* Create Monthly Coding Newsletters pertaining to new policies and procedures related to coding and documentation.

Qualifications:
* Prior experience as an ICD-10 Coding Educator at the Professional level creating their own classes, providing content/material on ICD-10 Coding and Documentation best practices as well as prior experience working directly with physicians.
* High School diploma required
* At least three (3) years recent coding experience required. At least one (1) year coding and documentation auditing experience in a health care setting required.
* Must possess and maintain AAPC Certified Professional Coder (CPC) certification. CPMA or equivalent auditing certification required.
* Advanced ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding knowledge inclusive of associated edits such as NCCI.
* Prior Epic experience
* Bachelor's or Associate Degree in Business/Healthcare preferred, clinical experience/clinical licensure (LPN, RN) a plus.
