Description
An Orthopedic Surgery practice located in western New York is seeking a physician assistant to join a busy practice. There are two physicians in the group, two PA’s, one Nurse Practitioner and RNFA. The PA will work the majority of time in the office. Both physicians are performing surgery on a daily basis. The practice is also recruiting an Orthopedic Surgeon as well as a PA.
Specific duties:
• Chart/History reviews
• EMR documentation
• Radiologic Interpretation including MRI and X-ray
• Patient consultations(post-op, follow up, primary & ER referrals)
• Diagnose conditions
• Recommend treatments
• Set & cast simple fractures
• Perform injections and aspirations
• Staple and suture removal
• Wound evaluation and dressing changes
• Respond to patient telephone inquiries
• Record dictations
• Recognize patient conditions that need to be referred to a physicianThe practice admits patients to a 65 bed community hospital in town. All trauma is referred to Buffalo, NY or Erie, PA. The practice is offering a competitive salary and benefit package.
