A well-established pathology laboratory in Birmingham, AL is seeking a qualified Pathologists Assistant to join their team. This is a full-time, permanent position offering competitive compensation and the opportunity to work with a supportive, experienced pathology team. A Master’s degree in Pathologists' Assistance is required. New graduates are welcome to apply.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist pathologists with the preparation and examination of autopsy and surgical pathology specimens

• Conduct gross examinations of surgical specimens, prepare tissue for processing, and assist with the preparation of autopsy reports

• Maintain accurate and thorough records of all procedures and specimens

• Ensure compliance with laboratory safety standards and regulatory requirements

• Collaborate with pathology staff and other healthcare professionals to support patient care

Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in Pathologists' Assistance (required – no exceptions)

• Board certification or eligibility through the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or equivalent preferred, but new grads are welcome to apply

• Strong knowledge of human anatomy, pathology procedures, and laboratory safety protocols

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Excellent communication, attention to detail, and organizational skills
