Shift: Full Time Nights 7P-7A (rotating weekends) and holidays 

Job Summary

The Medical-Surgical RN accepts the responsibility and accountability for patients on the 16-bed unit and administers direct and indirect patient care. The Nurse to Patient Ratio is 2:1 or 3:1 for this unit. 

Job Responsibilities

• Provide quality patient care, in keeping with the philosophy and objectives of the hospital and department
• Prescribes, delegates and coordinates all nursing care provided to assigned patients 
• Assess & reassess patient condition, initiate plan of care and begin discharge planning on admission
• Meet the personal and practical needs of patients and families
• Continue self-development, provide leadership & actively participate in Performance Improvement Activities
• Directs others as needed

Qualifications:

• Acute Care or Critical Care experience required
• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing  - BSN strongly preferred
• Current CPR certification issued by American Heart Association; ACLS certification required within 6 months of hire
• Certification in specialty area preferred
