The Endoscopy Registered Nurse delivers perioperative care to the surgical patient, across the lifespan, using the nursing process of assessment, planning, intervention, implementation, and evaluation. The perioperative nurse is responsible for promoting the health, welfare, and safety of the patient during endoscopic procedures. Responsible for implementing and maintaining standards of endoscopic nursing practice (SGNA) as well as meeting the established policies/standards of practice for this facility. Maintains cost-effectiveness and uses analytical, decision-making skills. Participates in Performance Improvement activities to assure continuous Quality Improvement. Maintains cultural and diversity awareness when dealing with patients, visitors, co-workers and all other customers. Promotes a supportive, teamwork-oriented environment. Fulfills departmental responsibilities with the long-range plan, mission, vision and values of CMC. Promotes and maintains patient safety standards.
