Description Join the Minneapolis VA Health Care System as a skilled Anesthesiologist with cardiothoracic experience and deliver high-quality care for veterans. Position: Anesthesiologist – Cardiothoracic Experience Preferred Location: Minneapolis VA Health Care System, One Veterans Drive, Minneapolis, MN 55417 Position Type: Contract | Long-Term, Full-Time (Base Year + Four Option Years) Compensation & Benefits Schedule: Monday – Friday, 6:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. (Excluding Federal Holidays) Estimated Hours: 80 hours every two weeks Rotating On-Call Schedule: Collaboratively confirmed Lunch Break: 30-minute unpaid Why This Opportunity is Exceptional Work with a leading VA health system serving veterans Opportunity to provide anesthesia for cardiothoracic surgeries and complex procedures Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure patient safety and optimal outcomes Make a direct impact on veteran patient care Top-tier compensation with potential for growth Key Responsibilities Administer anesthesia and monitor patients during surgical procedures Develop and implement anesthesia care plans with surgical teams Provide pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative patient care Evaluate patient histories and perform physical assessments for anesthesia protocols Maintain accurate patient records following VA policies Respond confidently to anesthesia-related emergencies Contribute to educational programs and anesthesia practice improvements Follow safety standards, infection control protocols, and federal regulations Note: Cardiac device implantation (pacemakers, LVADs, defibrillators) may be involved but is not the primary responsibility.
