The Pathology locum tenens opportunity in North Carolina…
-Location: Laurinburg, NC (near Pinehurst)
-Duration: January – June 2024 (potential for extension)
-Schedule: 7-8 weeks per year, 1-2 weekend per month
-Shift: Monday – Friday, 8a-5p
-Dates: January 8-12, February 26, March 18, 22, March 25-29
-Scope: Clinical and Anatomical Pathology
-Cases: Mostly GI and GYN. Some breast, liver and prostate biopsies. Other miscellaneous cases. Colon resections, hysterectomy. A tech does the simple gross, I do the complex gross exams. I sign out all of the cases. Second opinions readily available and encouraged as needed from Pee Dee path in Florence. Their courier comes M-F for pickup.
• 1-2 Frozens a month. Virtually 0 evening or weekend frozen
• No cytology
• No Bone Marrows
• Only stillborn autopsies (1 per year or less)
• Review 3-5 CBCs per day as requested and meeting criteria for review
• Sign out 1-4 Blood Bank Antibody panels per week
• Sign out 8-10 protein electrophoresis panels per week
-EMR: Epic
-Hospital: 104 beds
-Required: Board certified or board eligible with North Carolina license
