Childhelp recognizes the vicarious trauma that can occur for employees providing the critical work and services at the Children’s Advocacy Center and values the importance of devoting dedicated time to wellness and compassion to mitigate the negative impacts of secondary trauma. Childhelp Children’s Advocacy Center employs a highly qualified and trauma-trained staff to act as a program coordinator responsible for overseeing staff and partner compassion and wellness activities and training to address secondary trauma and avoid burnout common to first responders. Some common activities addressing staff wellness include:

• A relaxation and wellness room equipped with sensory items, yoga mats, music, and a massage chair.
• Regularly scheduled activities that allow MDT members to take a break and socialize and network outside of the office setting.
• Raffles prizes for fun and relaxing activities that allow employees to engage with friends and families such as tickets to comedy shows, sporting and music events, and massages.
• Team building activities.
• Guest speakers focusing on wellness, health, and self-care.
• Other wellness and recognition gifts and prizes.
• Employee Assistance Program (EAP).

About This Role:

• Provides clinical assessment, individual and family therapy related to child abuse issues for children, adolescents, non-offending adults, and families, as well as the facilitation of psychoeducational groups for non-offending guardians, caretakers, and adolescents.
• Creates and maintains files with all paperwork and written reports related to clientele in accordance with OBHL, the Center’s policies and procedures, and the forensic environment.
• Attends weekly supervision to discuss case conceptualization, to review treatment goals, to discuss problems or obstacles to progress, to exchange ideas for intervention strategies, to provide clinical training, and to assist with difficult or problem families/cases.
• Coordinates services with a multidisciplinary team, including law enforcement, CPS, medical staff, forensic interviewers, and other persons/groups related to child abuse issues and ongoing cases, as necessary and appropriate within the forensic environment.
• Provides court testimony, as needed.
• Represents Childhelp through speaking engagements, educational opportunities, and public appearances.
• Participates in Center-based self-care and team building activities.
• Carries out other duties as assigned.


Job Type: Full-time
Associate Therapist Salary: $65,000.00 - $66,000.00 per year
Licensed Therapist Salary: $69,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year

Skills

What You Bring To The Team:

• Bring your passion and expertise!
• A Master’s degree in counseling or social work.
• Associate license as a LAC, AMFT or LMSW
• Desired experience working with children with complex trauma issues.
• Ability to be a productive collaborative team member.
• A desire to help others become the best they can be in serving our clients while managing a health work/life balance.
• Bilingual in English/Spanish.
• Must also have a good understanding of clinical diagnosis and evidence-based interventions to address mental health conditions.
