Description
Patient Types: IPR: Spinal Cord Injuries, TBI, Strokes, Multiple trauma, s/p COVID, medically complex/debilitating patients Acute: Medically complex/debilitating patients Outpatient: Pediatrics (developmental), Neuro specific diagnoses (higher functioning), Spinal patients (surgical & non-surgical) Skilled Nursing: similar to IPR Required Degree/Certifications: ST: Current LA ST license Skills required Swallow evaluation, Video Swallow Study experience Ability to manage a case load independently; experience with above mentioned patient types; working with the multidisciplinary team Support on the Unit: Supervisor Assistant Director Most of the time, will be surrounded by other team members Charting System/Equipment: EMR: Inpatient Rehab & Acute Care: Meditech, Expanse Outpatient: Wellsky, Skilled Nursing: AOD – transitioning to Meditech, Expanse Floating: No floating between facilities, unless otherwise specified Orientation: Attend a general hospital orientation + departmental and site specific orientation (2-3 days) – will have full case load by the end of the week Scheduling: Weekend rotation: no weekend coverage for Outpatient; IPR and Acute care – usually 1 per month. No call. Scrub Color: Pewter (Inpatient) or Professional Dress (Option for Outpatient only) Parking: Free parking
