Position
Summary:          Registered Nurse RN
Peri-Anesthesia – Same Day Care / PACU

The
Peri-Anesthesia Nurse reports to the Director of Surgical Services, and works
under the direct supervision of the department’s Clinical Coordinator. He/she
is responsible for providing direct care to patients undergoing diagnostic,
therapeutic, and interventional surgical procedures.

This individual assures the
provision of high quality patient care, utilizes equipment appropriately,
fosters a cooperative and collaborative relationship with physicians,
establishes and maintains good internal and external customer relationships.
S/he fosters a team approach to providing patient care that is safe, effective,
patient-centered, timely, efficient and equitable. S/he performs all functions
according to hospital policies, nursing standards of care, practice guidelines,
and applicable regulatory and professional entities within the scope of RN
practice.

The Peri-Anesthesia Nurse will
follow the Job Standards and Clinical Practice Criteria as outlined by the
American Society of Post Anesthesia Nursing (ASPAN).

Qualifications

• Required:
  Registered Nurse with New Hampshire license or Compact License when applicable

• Preferred: BSN or
  higher degree in Nursing

• American Heart
  Association BLS

• 2-3 years clinical experience,
  SDC and PACU preferred.

• Working knowledge of underlying principles and standards that
  satisfy regulatory requirements for the following entities: ASPAN, CDC, OSHA,
  CMS.

• Ability to work in a fast paced, high stress work environment.
  Ability to maintain customer focused interpersonal communications skills and
  patient confidentiality

• Tuition
