As the Hospital/Psychiatric Hospital Investigator, you will support the Department's mission to protect and improve the health of people in the state of Washington by providing professional and technical expertise in conducting inspections and investigations for select clinical health care facilities. You will gather evidence through interviews, document review, and observe operations; document, organize, and analyze data for relevance; prepare final reports, which includes recommending licensure or certification. You will also assist customers with inquiries regarding compliance or other issues and assist with procedural quality improvement process.

This position is part of a highly motivated and dedicated team of Registered Nurses who are responsible for conducting state and federal compliance investigations in over 600 hospitals and psychiatric hospitals statewide. The Hospital/Psychiatric Hospital Investigation team is within the Office of Health Systems Oversight (OHSO) and team members are located in three (3) offices across the state, Tumwater, Kent, and Spokane.

The duty station for these positions is Kent, WA. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, telework (mobile-work) is currently expected. When approved to return, the incumbent is expected to report to the duty station for work activities. Partial telecommuting may be an option subject to supervisory approval.

This recruitment is for multiple full-time, project Nursing Consultant Institutional (NCI) positions within the Office of Health Systems Oversight, Division of Health Systems Quality Assurance (HSQA).

These project positions are currently funded through October 31, 2023.

Skills

Required Qualifications

•  A Bachelor’s degree or higher in Nursing.
•  Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of Washington OR eligible to obtain licensure within 6 months of hire.
•  Eight (8) or more years of professional clinical experience in the health care industry, to include but not limited to the following settings: hospital, psychiatric hospital, ambulatory surgical care, or community based-such as home care, home health, hospice or hospice care centers or public health settings.
•  Two (2) or more years in a leadership role such as nurse manager, charge nurse, lead, supervisor, or equivalent position.
