We are seeking a Board-Certified Obstetrics and Gynecology Physician for a locum tenens opportunity in North Carolina, near Shannon. This is a short-term assignment with excellent support, offering a chance to work in a dynamic inpatient setting.

Assignment Details:

Dates: December 16, 2024, to December 18, 2024

Coverage Type: Call only (backup call, second line)

Shifts: Call coverage ends at 7:00 AM on December 18, 2024

Practice Setting: Inpatient; no outpatient duties required

Rounding: Assigned patients

Patient Care: Includes admissions; temporary privileges are available

Practice Requirements:

Board Certification: Required in Obstetrics and Gynecology

Certifications Needed:
- ACLS
- BLS
- PALS

Licensing: Active North Carolina medical license required

Facility Details:

Average deliveries per year: 350

Inpatient department includes six beds

Trauma Level: 0 | Pediatric Level: 2

Specialty Skills Required:

Obstetrics:
- Routine deliveries, vaginal deliveries, low-forceps, and decision-making for C-sections
- Management of both low-risk and high-risk pregnancies
- Fetal heart rate interpretation, OB ultrasounds, and VBACs
- Complicated deliveries including breech, multiple births, and abruptions

Gynecology:
- Surgical procedures including laparoscopic diagnostics, tubal ligations, and ovary removal
- Office procedures such as IUD placements, colposcopies, and cryosurgery

Support Staff:

RN: 2

Midwife: Takes first call

PA/NP: 1

Additional Details:

Call Response Time: 25 minutes

Facility uses Cerner EMR system

Credentialing process: Quick turnaround (approximately 2 days)
