Job Responsibilities

As a Pediatric ICU Physician, your responsibilities will include:

• General rounding and patient care responsibilities followed by on-call duties


• Providing comprehensive care to pediatric patients in the intensive care unit


• Collaborating with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to develop and implement patient treatment plans


• Managing critical care procedures and interventions as needed


• Maintaining accurate and thorough medical records using EMR systems


• Ensuring patient safety and comfort throughout the treatment process

Job Requirements

To be considered for this position, you must meet the following requirements:

• Active South Carolina License and DEA - REQUIRED


• Board Certification in Pediatric Intensive Care - REQUIRED


• ACLS, NRP Certification - REQUIRED


• Availability for urgent shifts listed in the job description - REQUIRED


• Clean Background - REQUIRED

• PICU Beds/Peds: 6 beds, 2 observation beds


• EMR Systems: Meditech and Medimobile


• Average Daily Census: 4.3 admissions (2023)


• Annual Births: 2,800


• Daily Patient Load: 2-4 patients per day


• Subspecialty Backup Onsite: Pediatric Surgery, Pediatric GI Surgery, Neonatology Services


• Remote Pediatric Cardiology Support

Submission Requirements

• Certification Requirements: ACLS, Board Certified, DEA, NRP


• State License Requirements: South Carolina


• Additional License Requirements: Standard Pediatric Intensivist Certification
