DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES/INTRODUCTION: The contract psychiatrists will provide outpatient and inpatient face-to-face or tele-med initial diagnosis, assessment, medication management, evidenced-based therapy sessions, and specialized consolations to veterans assigned to SLVHCS. These duties will be performed at the SLVHCS location. The SUD psychiatrists will provide acute, rehabilitative and long-term treatment for Veterans. This psychiatrist will support an outpatient buprenorphine clinic, refer veterans for in/out patient detox, and work with the SLVHCS Pain Team consulting patients with chronic pain and opioid dependence issues
The psychiatrists will also perform assessments of the physical, psychological, emotional and social needs of individuals who are experiencing psychosis, anxiety, depression, behavioral aberrations, medically caused mental status change, and substance abuse issues.
1.1.1. The contract psychiatrist will document all patient interactions in the electronic medical record the same day but not later than 24 hours of visit. The contractor will be notified of the appropriate clinic profile upon awarding of this proposed contract. The VA will notify the contractor by written notification when services are required at an alternate location. It is the responsibility of the contractor to coordinate the relocation and lodging for their staff. Any modifications to this contract will be prepared by the VA Contracting Officer.
