Locum Tenens Opportunity: Neurosurgery Advanced Practice Provider Location: Near Wausau, Wisconsin Assignment Details: Specialty: Nurse Practitioner - Neurosurgery, Physician Assistant - Neurosurgery Department: Neuro Surgery Start Date: January 15, 2024 End Date: Ongoing Allowed Holidays: Labor Day, New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Christmas Day, 4th of July, Christmas Eve (1/2 Day Commencing at Noon), Thanksgiving Day Providers Requested: 1 Provider Type: Advanced Practice Request Type: Locum Tenens Coverage Type: Scheduled Clinical Hours Plus Call EMR System: Cerner Practice Setting: Outpatient, Inpatient (Both Required) Does Provider require hospital/surgery center privileges?: No Admissions Required?: No Are temporary privileges available?: Yes Is Hospital Stroke Certified?: Yes Patients Per Shift: 12 Practice Details: Board Certification Requirement: Eligible (Board Certification Preferred) License Requirement: Active license in WI preferred, but not mandatory BLS: Yes Estimated Credentialing Timeframe (Days): 60 Facility Information: Trauma Level: 2 PEDs Level: 3 Job Description: The APC will work alongside two neurosurgeons for clinic, call, and surgical purposes. Currently, there are four department APCs. We are seeking one full-time locum with ongoing availability. Neurosurgery APC Requirements (MUST HAVE NEUROSURGERY EXPERIENCE): Schedule: 40 hours per week, with 4 - 10h days for 3 weeks alternating with 5 - 8h days for 1 week. Additional hours of weekend call once every fourth weekend until February 2024, then once every 5th weekend beginning in March 2024. Week-night call once every fourth week until February 2024, then once every 5th week beginning in March 2024. Weekend call is Friday through Sunday, and week-night call is Monday through Thursday. Duties include: Surgical first assist Bedside procedures Rounding independently in all hospital units including NICU, PICU, Peds, ICU (surgical and medical), and general med/surg floor Hospital and ER/UC consults Clinic duties including outpatient consultations, post-operative/post-hospital patient care, fracture care, patient phone calls, medication refills, and FMLA documentation.
