A locum tenens opportunity is available for a board-certified or board-eligible oncologist in Richmond, Indiana. This position provides clinic, hospital, and call coverage with an immediate need starting in May 2025 until a permanent oncologist is hired.

The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM. Clinic responsibilities include seeing 18-20 patients daily. On-call responsibilities are rotated among oncologists and include consulting on the hospital side and providing backup for four APPs. Hospitalists handle admissions with consulting support from oncologists. The hospital averages 10-12 inpatients daily.

   Practice Mix: 80% office/clinic and 20% hospital-based
   Patient Population: Adults aged 18 and older
   Support Staff: Includes 4 NPs
   EMR System: EPIC

Requirements:

   Active board certification within five years of training
   At least two years of oncology experience
   Active BLS certification (American Heart Association)
   Recent quality data/OPPE reports and procedure logs for the last 12-24 months
   Compliance with 25 Category I CME credits per calendar year

Scope of Practice:

   Bone marrow biopsies and aspirations preferred but not required
   Therapeutic paracentesis and thoracentesis as preferred skills
