Description
Location: One hour from Oklahoma City (Inquire for specific location)
Duration: July 1 - ongoing
Reason for coverage: perm vacancy
Schedule: Full-time, 5 days per week required
Shift: Monday-Friday, typically 10-hour shift
Monday: Surgery at hospital starting at 7am + clinic 12pm-5pm
Tuesday: Surgery at ASC starting at 7am; Clinic 12pm-3:30pm (occasional add on case after clinic)
Wednesday: All day surgery at hospital starting at 7am
Thursday: Outreach clinic 8am-2:30pm (the satellite office is 1 hour away; team works 6:45am-3:30pm)
Friday: Clinic 8am-2pm
Call: Every Monday and every 5th weekend Friday-Sunday
Volume: varies 30-60 patients per day, scheduled between 2 (ORS and PA). clinic 30-35 patients per ½ day session
Scope: PA Orthopedic Surgery – clinic care team model with the orthopedic surgeon (will not have their own patient schedule), surgery assist, call, H&P’s, discharge summaries, rounding
Procedures: Surgical 1st assist PA with strong Operative ORS background, well as OP Clinic for general orthopedics, tendon repairs, wound closures and debridement, injection of joints, fracture management sterile field, etc.
EMR: NextGen clinic and Meditech IP
Hospital: Clinic and Hospital located 3 miles apart. Outreach satellite clinic 1 hour away.
Group/support: Working with 1 ORS, Dedicated Ortho nurse, Clinic manager, x-ray tech, and scribe
Requirements (boards, license): PA – BC, Active OK license strongly preferred, but open to license
