Position Overview:
Seeking an experienced Interventional Cardiologist for locum tenens coverage at a busy hospital and outpatient cardiology clinic near Houston, TX. The hospital is a 24/7 STEMI receiving center with strong APP and physician support.

Clinical Responsibilities:

Outpatient cardiology clinic and inpatient care
Non-invasive cardiology (required)
Invasive cardiology procedures including angioplasty, stent placement, atherectomy, PA catheter, IABP, cardiac catheterization (required)
TEE preferred but not required
Nuclear cardiology read by radiologists; cardiologists manage positive stress tests
Support from 1 general cardiologist and 2-3 interventionalists

Schedule:
Clinic hours: 8:00 am – 12:00 pm and 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm
Call hours: 7:00 am – 7:00 pm (no backup call)
Most days working onsite

Qualifications:
TX medical license required
DEA, BLS, ACLS certifications required
Board certification in Interventional Cardiology preferred
Experience managing emergent STEMI cases preferred
Technically sound with excellent judgment in cath lab

Additional Info:
Orientation provided (day of start acceptable)
Emergency or temporary hospital privileges available ASAP
EMR systems: eMDs (clinic), Meditech (hospital)
