Job Summary: The OB/GYN Physician is primarily responsible for providing medical services for the patients a community health center; in addition, the Physician may be directed by the Chief Medical Officer to perform other duties in accordance with funding agencies requirements, contractual agreements, policies, procedures, and protocols established by the Board of Directors. Highly-skilled specialist who is passionate about women’s healthcare and is a good communicator and educator.
Admit to one level I facility. Shared call 1.  You can work 5/8’s or 4/10 hour days.

Job Duties:
1.   Assume quality of care for all patients.
2.   Responsible for testing, diagnosing, treating, and monitoring diseases and issues related to women’s health
3.   Perform a wide range of tests, including pap smears, pelvic, and breast exams.
4.   Conduct routine check-ups and screenings on female patients.
5.   Monitor and treat expectant mothers during pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum.
6.   Provide medical counsel and support to women during pregnancy and childbirth.
7.   Adhere to the highest standards of medical practice, ethics, and professionalism at all times.
8.   Provide surgical care when appropriate for obstetrical and gynecological disorders.
9.   Educate patients about disease prevention and detection, and reproductive health.
10.   Collaborate with other medical and non-medical personnel.
11.   Keep up to date with current practices and innovations.
12.   Assist the Chief Medical Officer in establishing medical policies quality improvement procedures, evaluating current practices, policies and procedures.
13.   Recommend changes in all clinical areas, and/or in general areas to improve the patient flow, medical records, billing practices, and appointment practices.
14.   Assist the Chief Medical Officer in designing, implementing and evaluating educational programs for the Omni Family Health, patients and clinical staff.
15.   Responsible for the directing and supervising the clinical staff, as appropriate.
16.   Maintain an affiliation with professional groups, medical associations, and medical organizations policies all            
17.   Hospital-Related Activities: Hospital care, surgeries, and deliveries. Periodic hospital call or hospital emergency room coverage, as required by the hospital as a condition for obtaining hospital admitting privileges.
18.   Other duties as required by the funding agencies to carry out contractual agreements and/or as established by Management and Board of Directors.
a. Must become familiar with the Federal and State rules, regulations, and practices in a Community Health Center.
b. Become familiar with Federal and State Health care program requirements and assist in carrying out these programs.
c. Assist in developing the health care plan and review of the program requirements, and recommend changes when necessary to carry out the health plan as required.

Additional Duties:
1.   HIPAA compliance - Responsible for maintaining abreast of and in compliance with all HIPAA regulations and requirements. Treats all member information confidential.
2.   Compliance - Ensure compliance with all local, state and federal regulations.
3.   QA/QI - Participate in QA/QI activities and contribute towards the overall performance improvement of the organization.
4.   IT - Required to learn/use the Electronic Health Record and Practice Electronic System and its components. As required by the job functions and highlighted in the Policies and Procedures. These components include NextGen and other electronic features, as they are developed and implemented, as applicable to work environment. Be familiar and use email, web browsing, telephone applications, and office products.
5.   Participate in on-call schedule (One week Monday-Sunday) and weekend clinic coverage, frequency of these depends on provider availability.

Qualifications, Education, and Experience:

1.   Doctor of Medicine
2.   Four years of OB/GYN residency
3.   Board certification in OB/GYN and state license
4.   5 years’ experience (or more) practicing medicine after residency preferred.
5.   Expert diagnostic skills
6.   Trustworthy and compassionate character
7.   Impeccable bedside manner
8.   Strong communication skills
9.   Interest in designing and evaluating an efficient health care system in a community health center setting highly desirable.
10.   Authoritative knowledge of the principles of practice, principles of general management and specifically in personnel management and techniques in running a medical practice in a community health center are highly desirable.
11.   Ability to relate to the public regardless of ethnic, religion, and economic status.
