We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse - Telemetry to join our dynamic healthcare team. Required Skills:
- Valid and current Registered Nurse (RN) license
- BLS certification; ACLS and NIHSS preferred
- Minimum of 2 years of recent acute care experience, with telemetry competency
- Strong knowledge of wound management, JP drains, wound vacs, hemodialysis catheter care, PCA, and pain management
- Ability to pass an EKG competency exam prior to start date
- Excellent communication and critical thinking skills
- Proficiency with Meditech Expanse EMR, Alaris pumps, and Pyxis medication systems
Nice to Have Skills:
- Experience in post-op overflow units, including total joint surgeries and GI/abdominal procedures
- Knowledge of sepsis, cellulitis, DVT/PE, CHF, COPD, COVID, PNA patient care
- Ability to float across various Med-Surg units within the hospital
- Previous experience working in educational or training-oriented environments
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from an accredited program
- At least 2 years of hands-on experience in a hospital setting, specifically in telemetry or medical-surgical units
Other Requirements:
- Must be separated from previous employment for at least 1 year if previously a permanent staff RN; first-time travelers require 2 years of acute care experience
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including every other weekend, 2-3 holidays per year, and 4-day and 3-day workweeks
- No on-call responsibilities; scheduled shifts only
- Valid certification in BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS; additional certifications considered a plus
- Reliable transportation and appropriate attire as specified (Pewter scrubs, gray/white/black T-shirts with WK monogram, gray or black jackets)
