Description

Maine: A respected FQHC (community health center) with over 50 years of service seeks a skilled Dermatologist to join their expanding clinical team. With multiple practice sites across central and northern Maine, this nonprofit delivers primary care, urgent care, mental health, dentistry, podiatry, physical therapy, and more. This newly created Dermatology position was developed to address a significant local need for timely dermatologic care, serving individuals who often have no access to a dermatologist elsewhere.

The role focuses on outpatient medical dermatology for patients of all ages, including medical evaluation, treatment, and in-office procedures such as biopsies, cryotherapy, and simple excisions; cosmetic services are not expected. The dermatologist will rotate across two or three nearby practice sites to expand access and ensure continuity for patients who would otherwise face extended wait times or long travel distances for care. This is a rare opportunity for a dermatologist to support a mission of expanding access for underserved communities, backed by a dedicated, caring clinical team and modern facilities committed to reducing barriers to care.

Maine ranks #2 for Best Quality of Life, #3 Safest State in the USA, and #1 for Air Quality. This region offers scenic landscapes, affordable homes, and a strong sense of community. Central and northern Maine are ideal for those who enjoy a relaxed lifestyle with easy access to outdoor recreation. Residents enjoy hiking, boating, fishing, hunting, ATV and snowmobile trails, and stunning fall foliage. Four-season recreation is a way of life here.

Local communities feature friendly neighborhoods, solid schools, and welcoming residents who value providers who choose to practice here. Those seeking a quieter pace, less traffic, and more space will appreciate the region’s natural beauty and affordability. Larger cities - Bangor and Presque Isle - are within easy reach for shopping, dining, entertainment, and transportation.

If you seek a practice that offers strong support, excellent quality of life, and a truly appreciative patient community, this role provides all that plus the stability of an established FQHC.
