Position Summary A member of Community HealthCare System’s (CHCS) Medical Staff that provides high-quality, patient-centered women’s health and surgical gynecologic care for patients in both the critical access hospital and rural health clinic settings. This GYN-only role focuses exclusively on the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of gynecologic conditions, offering essential specialty services to a rural community with limited access to women’s health care.Key Responsibilities Outpatient Care (Rural Health Clinic) • Provide consultation and referral services to CHCS’s Clinic providers for Gynecologist services of patients. • Provide comprehensive women’s health services including annual exams, family planning, contraception management, menopause care, and evaluation of gynecologic symptoms. • Diagnose and manage gynecologic conditions such as abnormal uterine bleeding, pelvic pain, endometriosis, PCOS, fibroids, vulvar disorders, and urogynecology concerns. • Perform office-based procedures including colposcopy, cervical biopsies, endometrial biopsies, vulvar biopsies, and LARC placement/removal. • Coordinate care with primary care providers, behavioral health, and other specialists. Inpatient & Surgical Care (Critical Access Hospital) • Provide inpatient consultations for gynecologic issues and emergencies. • Perform gynecologic surgeries within the capabilities of the CAH (e.g., hysteroscopy, D&C, laparoscopy, hysterectomy where appropriate, cyst removal, pelvic floor procedures. • Collaborate with anesthesia, nursing, ER, and surgical teams to ensure timely, high-quality care. Collaboration & Quality • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and clinical practice guidelines tailored to rural healthcare. • Work closely with multidisciplinary teams to enhance continuity of care. • Contribute to community women’s health education and outreach programs as appropriate.
Skills
Qualifications • MD or DO, with completion of an ACGME-accredited GYN residency or GYN-focused training. • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Obstetrics & Gynecology (GYN-only practice focus). • Valid medical license to practice in the State of Kansas • Current BLS and ACLS certifications. • Rural healthcare experience preferred but not required.
