Facility in Harrisburg, PA is seeking a Board Certified or Board Eligible Pediatric Hospitalist for part-time locum tenens coverage due to a turnover vacancy. This role includes general pediatric floor coverage and occasional newborn nursery responsibilities within a hospital that offers comprehensive pediatric specialty support.Compensation Hourly rate: $200/hour day shifts and $210/hr Night shifts Holiday rate multiplier applies Position Details Specialty: Pediatric Hospitalist Practice Setting: Inpatient Pediatric Unit Location: Harrisburg, PA Start Date: June 15, 2026 Coverage Type: Part-time locum tenens Estimated Shifts per Month: Approximately 7 Schedule Options 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM: General Pediatrics (Day Shift) 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM: General Pediatrics & Newborn Coverage (Night Shift) 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM: Newborn Nursery (limited availability) 24-hour shifts are generally avoided due to workload but may occasionally be considered. Clinical Responsibilities Provide inpatient pediatric floor coverage Evaluate and manage pediatric patients admitted to the hospital Respond to consults from the Emergency Department Provide newborn nursery coverage as needed Perform procedures such as lumbar punctures The role does not require attending deliveries or performing circumcisions. Patient Volume Day shift: Average 7 pediatric patients on the floor, plus ED consults Night shift: Coverage of general pediatrics, newborn nursery, and ED consults Nursery shifts: Average 20 newborns Practice Environment Level I nursery covered by pediatric hospitalists Level III NICU on-site staffed by Neonatology EMR: Epic Pediatric specialty support includes: Pediatric Critical Care Pediatric Surgery Pediatric Gastroenterology Pediatric Neurology Pediatric Endocrinology Pediatric ENT Pediatric Cardiology Pediatric Anesthesia Common Conditions Managed Asthma Seizures Gastroenteritis Pneumonia Credentialing Estimated credentialing timeframe: 90 days Full privileges available Travel & Reimbursement Travel reimbursement includes airfare, lodging, rental car, mileage, parking, and ground transportation.
