Join Our Team as a PCU Registered Nurse – Make a Difference in Critical Care!
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced PCU Registered Nurse to provide exceptional care on a 31-bed mixed acuity unit at University Hospital. This pivotal role involves supporting medicine services and caring for a diverse range of stepdown and med/surg patients. Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care to patients with varying acuity levels within the PCU.
- Utilize EPIC documentation systems accurately and efficiently.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including float responsibilities within the OSU organization.
- Manage medical titrations and operate CPAP/BiPAP equipment confidently.
- Maintain certification requirements such as BLS and ACLS and be charge-capable when appropriate.
Required Skills:
- Minimum of 2 years of recent PCU or stepdown nursing experience.
- Proficiency with EPIC, Omnicell, and relevant medical equipment.
- Strong clinical judgment and ability to multitask confidently.
- Excellent communication skills and team collaboration.
Nice to Have Skills:
- Experience with medication titrations, CPAP/BiPAP management, and charge nurse responsibilities.
- Previous travel nursing experience.
- Familiarity with Ohio RN licensure requirements.
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Active Ohio RN license.
- BLS and ACLS certifications without expiration concerns.
Other Requirements:
- First-time travelers accepted.
- Availability to work night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, three days a week.
- Reliable transportation and access to designated parking options (WMC Garage, CXS Shuttle, or West Campus permits).
- Willingness to work float shifts within the OSUWMC organization as needed.
