We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse with a passion for neurological and acute care to join our dynamic healthcare team. Required Skills:
- Minimum of 2 years of full-time RN experience in an acute care setting, including previous stroke patient care or related neurological conditions.
- Valid RN license.
- Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS.
- Ability to perform and PASS an EKG competency exam.
- Proficient in managing titratable medications such as Cardene, Cardizem, Insulin, Heparin, Neo, Levophed (manager approval required if lacking experience).
- Experience with chest tube management, tracheostomy care, Peritoneal Dialysis, and lumbar CSF drains (preferred).
- Strong assessment, critical thinking, and patient monitoring skills, including telemetry.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills, with familiarity using EMR systems (Meditech Expanse preferred).
- Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
Nice to Have Skills:
- Experience with patient support devices and advanced equipment.
- Prior travel or hospital float experience.
- Additional certifications such as TNCC or ENPC.
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) highly preferred.
- At least 2 years of recent experience in stroke, neurology, or stepdown units.
Other Requirements:
- Availability to work flexible schedules, including every other weekend, night shifts, and 2-3 holidays per year.
- Ability to adapt to unit float assignments across Stepdown and Medical-Surgical units with patient ratios of 1:3 (RN) and 1:9 (CNA).
- Strong commitment to infection control and maintaining a professional appearance (scrubs in pewter; logo shirts in gray, white, or black; jackets in gray or black).
- Must wear badges visibly above the waist at all times.
- Free parking in designated areas.
- Travel experience is not required but a positive attitude toward working in a traveler-friendly environment is essential.
This position offers a competitive hourly pay rate of $50.25, complemented by comprehensive benefits including weekly pay via direct deposit, medical coverage, referral bonuses, paid sick leave, and travel-related reimbursements.
