Registered Nurse - PICU
Join our dedicated healthcare team as a Registered Nurse in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU), where your expertise will directly impact the care of critically ill children. Key Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized nursing care for pediatric patients with complex conditions, including MS, DKA, Sepsis, Respiratory Failure, Neuro post-surgical care, and more.
- Titrate and manage critical medications such as pressors, insulin, heparin, and sedation agents.
- Perform advanced procedures like PIV insertions, CVL placements, telemetry monitoring, wound care, and drain management.
- Collaborate with hospitalists, intensivists, RTs, and other medical staff to deliver comprehensive care.
- Demonstrate proficiency in Meditech Expanse EMR and operate IV pumps and medication dispensing systems.
- Adapt to capacity for floating to adult ICU or Med/Tele units, leveraging cross-training skills.
Required Skills:
- Minimum of 2 years of PICU experience.
- Current BLS, ACLS, PALS certifications; NRP preferred.
- Valid RN licensure.
- Strong skills in PIV, CVL, telemetry, wound care, drains, and wound vacs.
- Ability to pass an EKG competency exam.
- Experience with titrating critical medications and comfort with complex patient procedures.
Nice to Have Skills:
- Cross-training and ability to float to Adult ICU, Med/Tele units.
- Experience with neuro post-op care, including craniotomies and EVD drains.
- Prior travel experience as a Registered Nurse.
- Skills in phlebotomy, resource management, and handling ventilators.
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Registered Nurse with at least 2 years of PICU experience.
- Previous experience in critical care settings, including adult ICU or stepdown units, is advantageous.
Other Requirements:
- First-time traveler acceptance encouraged.
- Ability to work 4-day weeks alternating with 3-day weeks.
- Mandatory weekend rotations and holiday coverage.
- Can request up to 7 days of time off with proper notice.
- Successful completion of a hospital orientation plus two onboarding shifts.
- Must be able to work comfortably in a family-oriented, traveler-friendly environment.
- Valid certifications in BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP (preferred).

Hourly Pay Rate: $53.60
