Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor telemetry patients with proficiency, demonstrating the ability to pass telemetry tests.
- Manage IV starts and administer medications safely.
- Conduct patient assessments, labs, and provide patient education.
- Ensure accurate documentation within EPIC electronic health records.
- Respond promptly to patient needs and changes in condition.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality care.
Required Skills:
- Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in a telemetry or PCU setting.
- Ability to pass telemetry tests and experience monitoring telemetry patients.
- Current BLS and IV certification.
- Proficient in IV starts, patient monitoring, labs, medication administration, and patient education.
- Strong clinical judgment and critical thinking skills.
- Experience with EPIC electronic health record system.
Nice to Have Skills:
- Additional certifications such as ACLS or PALS.
- Previous experience in a fast-paced hospital environment.
- Bilingual abilities to facilitate patient communication.
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Registered Nurse licensed in the state.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- At least 2 years of relevant clinical experience in acute care.
Other Requirements:
- Ability to pass telemetry tests.
- Flexibility to work night shifts, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:30.
- Must have BLS and IV certification.
- Valid nursing license in good standing.
