Join Our Team as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant – General Surgery

We are seeking highly skilled Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants to provide urgent general surgery coverage in Santa Rosa from June 1st through August 31st. Responsibilities:
- Provide urgent general surgery coverage for a 10-hour shift (8:00 am – 6:00 pm)
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality patient care
- Maintain accurate documentation and adhere to hospital protocols
- Ensure compliance with licensure, certification, and credentialing requirements
- Be available for 2 weeks on/2 weeks off schedule or more
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Active California medical license and CA DEA registration
- Certification as PA-C with general surgery experience OR NP with ACNP credential and national certification
- Minimum of 2 years of recent hospital clinical experience in general surgery
- Board Certification or eligibility within 3-5 years of residency
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications
- Ability to work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Clean professional record (clinically and administratively)
Nice to Have Skills:
- Prior experience in a hospital setting with surgical privileges
- Knowledge of hospital privileging processes
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Adaptability to varied clinical scenarios
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Physician Assistant with a minimum of 2 years' hospital-based general surgery experience
- Nurse Practitioner with ACNP credential and recent surgical experience
- Certified and licensed in California with active DEA registration
- Experience with hospital privileging and documentation processes
Other Requirements:
- Reliable transportation for arrival and departure logistics; travel reimbursements apply as specified
- Updated CV including all hospital affiliations
- Familiarity with hospital privileging standards and case log documentation
- Commitment to adhering to all safety, legal, and institutional policies
