Job Summary
This position will be a team leader with 50% Educational Responsibility. 

Under the supervision of the Cardiology Manager and Cardiovascular Services Director, the RN Supervisor coordinates and supervises the patient care team of RN’s, Cath lab Techs and other team members assigned. The Cath Lab RN Supervisor is responsible for: daily operation of the Cardiovascular Prep and Recovery Unit (CPRU), Cath Lab, and other units as assigned; responsible for direct/coordinated supervision and assignment of all patient care team members, and follow-through on all clinical issues and verbal discipline/coaching with follow up documentation. 

This position oversees daily timekeeping (Kronos) entries, coordinates performance appraisal data gathering, develops and supervises unit participation in quality/process improvement, assesses staff need for initial training/continuing education and provides hands on patient care coaching. This position will be required to participate in creating or assist in maintaining appropriate policies for Cath Lab, CPRU, and other areas as needed. This position is also responsible to meet all, but not to perform on a daily basis, job duties as outlined in the Cath Lab/CPRU RN job descriptions, when required by patient or unit needs, as well as those listed in this job description

St. David’s Round Rock Medical Center, which is part of St. David’s HealthCare, is a 171-bed facility offering a range of services including advanced cardiac care at Heart Hospital of Austin at St. David's Round Rock—the first specialized cardiac facility in Williamson County, which offers heart and valve surgery and includes a catheterization and electrophysiology lab, as well as a Hybrid Operating Room (OR) for cardiovascular patients. Other services include advanced trauma care with a Level II Trauma Center, emergency services in a 24-hour emergency department including locations in Cedar Park and Leander, as well as a dedicated unit for cancer care and inpatient rehabilitation. St. David’s Round Rock Medical Center is also known for providing neurosurgery, advanced orthopedic and robotic services, among other complex specialties.

Qualifications

EDUCATION
AND EXPERIENCE
:



 


Required:
Associate degree of an accredited School of Nursing.



Minimum
one year of Critical Care and/or Cath Lab experience.



 


Preferred:
At least 3-5 years Critical Care experience and/or a minimum of one year of
diagnostic/interventional Cath Lab experience.



 


Computer
skills.



 


LICENSES AND CERTIFICATES:


 


Required:       


  • Registered Nurse License in
       Texas.   If Compact License, Texas License must be obtained within
       90 days of hire.
  • Current BLS for Healthcare Providers with
       American Heart Association or American Red Cross at hire.
  • Current ACLS for Healthcare Providers with
       American Heart Association or American Red Cross within 6 months of hire


 


Preferred:
       RCIS and/or CCRN, TNCC, CVRN
