Job
Summary:



Will utilize the nursing
process to independently deliver nursing care to patients in order to achieve
quality outcomes and communicates need for guidance/supervision based on
self-assessment of strengths and limitations. Promotes a positive image of
nursing and promotes collegiality among healthcare team members.



 


Market Float Pool RNs are
scheduled in accordance with the Staffing and Scheduling- Nursing, RN Floating
- Healthy Workplace Environment (HWE) and Attendance policies. Requirements of
RN unit based, facility based, or system based pools are based on which pool
they are in.



 


Hours:


Full Time: Minimum of 36
hours per week. Two weekends (or four weekend shifts) per 4 week scheduling
period is required. The weekend is defined as Saturday and Sunday.



 


PRN: Minimum of 24 hours
per week. One weekend shift is required per 4 week scheduling period.



 


Holiday Requirements:


One Major holiday for the
first half of the year (January-June) and one Major holiday the second half of
the year (July-December). One Minor holiday for the first half of the year
(January-June) and one Minor holiday the second half of the year
(July-December).

Floating:


Market Float Pool
employees will be required to float to all St. David’s Healthcare System
Facilities. Market Float Pool Nurses will be scheduled in units in which they
have competencies. Market Float Pool Nurse can be placed in a unit below their
competency level with a modified assignment.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:


  • Associate's Degree in
    Nursing required
  • Bachelor's Degree in
    Nursing preferred
  • Minimum of at least two
    years of RN experience with a minimum of one year specialty experience for
    those floating to specialty areas







License and
Certifications:


  • Current license to
    practice professional nursing in the state of Texas or Compact Nursing License
    required.  If Compact, a Texas license is
    required 90 days after hire date.
  • Current BLS certification
    required
  • Current ACLS certification
    required
