Overview:
A hospital-based opportunity is available for a Cardiac Surgeon with a strong focus on adult cardiac procedures. This role includes surgical coverage, ICU management, and collaboration with a dedicated cardiothoracic care team in a supportive clinical environment.

Orientation $400/hr. 24h call 4000 with 2 hour gratis. Call back $400/hr after gratis

Schedule:
24-hour call shifts (7:00 AM – 7:00 AM)

Practice Details:
Setting: Hospital-based
EMR: Epic
Dedicated cardiac OR and hybrid OR
Collaborative ICU and anesthesia team
Patient Population: Adult and geriatric

Patient Volume:
1–2 cardiothoracic surgical cases per day

Responsibilities:
Perform adult cardiac surgery
Manage post-operative and high-risk patients in the ICU
Provide support for structural heart procedures in hybrid OR/cath lab
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams

Procedures Include:
CABG (including arterial revascularization and redo cases)
Heart valve repair and replacement
General thoracic procedures (thoracostomy, bronchoscopy, VATS, lung biopsy, pericardial window)
Impella insertion, removal, and management
Structural heart procedure support

Requirements:
Board Certified Cardiac Surgeon – Required
BLS – Required
Active Kentucky License or willingness to obtain – Preferred
Experience with Impella support – Required
Experience with structural heart procedures – Required
Clean background – Required
NPDB Self-Query (within 30 days) – Required

Credentialing:
Estimated timeframe: ~90 days
