Overview
North Memorial Health is seeking a qualified NP or PA to provide vital coverage in trauma surgery at Robbinsdale. The role involves primarily functioning as a trauma hospitalist rounder with potential responsibilities including intermittent ED consults, trauma activations, procedures, and critical care management, particularly for candidates with surgical and trauma critical care experience. This position offers autonomy with supervision provided by a trauma surgeon 24/7, making it ideal for seasoned trauma providers seeking a meaningful locum experience. Enjoy shift schedules that are in-house only with no call requirements, rounding on 10-14 non-ICU and 6 ICU patients daily, with additional ED and admission duties as needed.
Required Skills
- Current NP or PA license in Minnesota or eligible for licensure
- Proven experience in trauma or emergency care, including familiarity with trauma alerts and critical care protocols
- Competence in procedures such as chest tube insertion, central/arterial line placement, suturing, and non-invasive ventilation management (BiPAP, CPAP)
- Ability to respond swiftly to trauma alerts, facilitate discharges, and manage ED admissions
- Strong clinical judgment and autonomous decision-making capabilities for patient management
- Proficiency with electronic medical records (Epic preferred)
Nice to Have Skills
- Experience with pediatric trauma patients
- Advanced airway management skills
- Prior work in a Level I trauma or trauma critical care environment
- Ability to perform or assist with complex procedures as needed
Preferred Education and Experience
- Graduate degree from an accredited NP or PA program
- Minimum of 2+ years of trauma, emergency, or critical care experience
- Certification: NCCPA or ANCC as applicable, with current BLS and ACLS certifications
Other Requirements
- Must be comfortable working diurnally within a 24-hour trauma surgeon supervision model
- Will not be reimbursed for credentialing or application fees
- Providers responsible for their own licensure, certification, travel, and associated costs
- This position is remote from April through July, beginning on 04/28/2026, with an hourly pay rate to be discussed
