Join Our Team as an Acute Care Pediatric Physician Assistant – Make a Difference in High-Acuity Pediatric Cardiac Care
Are you a dedicated and skilled Pediatric Physician Assistant seeking to advance your career in a dynamic, high-stakes environment? We are looking for an enthusiastic professional to provide expert inpatient pediatric cardiac care in our state-of-the-art Acute Cardiac Care Unit (ACCU). This vital role offers the opportunity to work with complex patients, collaborate with leading clinicians, and contribute to life-changing outcomes for our pediatric patients.
In this position, you will be integral to the team caring for high-acuity pediatric cardiac patients, including those with ventricular assist devices, ventilator dependence, and post-transplant needs. You will operate within a supportive, multidisciplinary framework, working across service lines such as general cardiology and advanced heart failure. Your expertise will directly impact patient recovery and quality of life.
Required skills include:
- Valid Pediatric Physician Assistant license and certification (PA-C)
- Critical Care Certification (BC Critical Care Certification required)
- Proven experience in pediatric inpatient or critical care settings
- Strong clinical judgment and excellent communication skills
- Ability to manage complex medical devices and therapies (e.g., VADs, chest tubes, inotropic infusions)
- Flexibility and adaptability to work within a collaborative multi-disciplinary team
Nice to have skills:
- Experience with pediatric heart failure and transplant management
- Familiarity with ventilator and trach management
- Prior experience in a step-down or high-acuity inpatient environment
- Additional certifications such as ACLS or PALS
Preferred education and experience:
- Master's degree in Physician Assistant Studies or equivalent
- Minimum of 2 years experience in pediatric critical or cardiac care settings
- Prior involvement in a multidisciplinary acute care team
Other requirements:
- Availability to work day shifts (Monday through Sunday, 07:00 - 20:00) in a 3x13-hour schedule
- Must comply with all licensure, certification, and travel reimbursement requirements where applicable
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team within a high-acuity environment
