Join Our Team as a Medical Surgical Oncology Registered Nurse
Are you a dedicated and compassionate RN looking to make a meaningful impact in oncology care? We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Surgical Oncology Registered Nurse to join our dynamic team. In this vital role, you will provide exceptional patient care on a combined oncology and mixed acuity PCU and Medical-Surgical unit, specializing in caring for patients with complex hematologic conditions and undergoing advanced therapies. Your expertise will directly contribute to improved patient outcomes in a compassionate and technologically advanced environment.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Minimum of 1 year of recent Medical-Surgical and Oncology nursing experience, verified via checklist
- Proficiency with telemetry monitoring and interpretation of dysrhythmias
- Hands-on experience with feeding tube management, blood product administration, and central/peripheral line care
- Skilled in use of Rapid Response Teams and emergency procedures
- Epic computerized charting experience is mandatory
- BLS certification is required; ACLS and Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) Chemotherapy certification are preferred
- Strong clinical assessment skills and ability to manage complex patient needs in a fast-paced setting
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with a commitment to patient safety and quality care
Nice to Have Skills:
- Experience with stem cell transplants (autologous, allogeneic, syngeneic) and CAR-T therapy procedures
- Knowledge of hematologic diagnoses such as Leukemias, Lymphomas, Multiple Myeloma, and other marrow disorders
- Prior experience with advanced patient monitoring and critical response teams
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Nursing license valid in the state of practice
- At least 1 year of recent experience in oncology and medical-surgical units, with specific exposure to hematology-oncology patients and infusion therapies
Other Requirements:
- Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts (19:00 - 07:30)
- Ability to verify and maintain relevant certifications and licensure
- Willingness to work rotating shifts based on department needs and staffing priorities
