Join Our Team as an MS/Tele Registered Nurse and Make a Difference in a Dynamic Corrections Healthcare Environment
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced MS/Tele Registered Nurse to provide top-tier patient care in a correctional setting. This critical role offers the opportunity to work in a secure, mission-driven environment, supporting Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Corrections inmates. If you are passionate about oncology, medical-surgical nursing, and working in challenging yet rewarding settings, this position is for you. Your expertise will be instrumental in ensuring safety, delivering compassionate care, and maintaining clinical excellence across various units, including oncology, PCU, and MS.
Required Skills:
- Valid Ohio RN license and current BLS certification.
- Epic charting experience is mandatory.
- Proficiency in medication administration using Pyxis system.
- Ability to float across Oncology Medical-Surgical and Tele units as needed.
- Strong assessment skills and experience in patient management.
- Knowledge of telemetry monitoring and interpretation of cardiac rhythms.
- Familiarity with IV therapy, blood product management, and central line care.
- Ability to respond promptly to emergency situations and interpret ABGs.
Nice to Have Skills:
- Oncology experience (preferred but not required).
- Experience with Hemodialysis management.
- Knowledge of Respiratory Care procedures, including CPAP, BiPAP, and HFNC.
- Experience with medication protocols such as Heparin and PCA.
- Telemetry certification or advanced cardiology skills.
Preferred Education and Experience:
- RN with at least 2 years of medical-surgical or telemetry experience.
- Prior experience working with correctional health populations is advantageous.
- Oncology nursing experience is a plus but not mandatory.
Other Requirements:
- Willingness to work a night 3x12-hour shift schedule (19:00 - 07:30).
- Ability to adapt to rotating schedules, including weekends, based on unit needs.
- Compliance with all facility-specific safety and security protocols.
- Valid licensure, certifications, and adherence to all applicable healthcare standards.
