Overview:
A large academic medical center is seeking a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner to provide inpatient NICU coverage in a high-acuity neonatal environment. The APP will work collaboratively with neonatologists and multidisciplinary teams to manage critically ill neonates and attend high-risk deliveries.

Compensation:

$140/hr

Assignment Details:

Start: ASAP
Duration: 9 months

Schedule:

12-hour shifts
Days and/or nights
Weekend coverage required as needed
No call required

Practice Details:

Setting: Inpatient NICU / Step-Down Nursery
EMR: Epic
Academic medical center with residents present
Team includes:
9 neonatologists
4 pediatric neonatal hospitalists

Patient Volume:

NICU: ~8–10 patients per provider/day
Step-down nursery: ~10–12 patients/provider/day
~950 neonatal admissions annually

Facility Details:

31 NICU beds
20 step-down nursery beds
51 total neonatal beds

Responsibilities:

Neonatal assessment and management
Attend high-risk deliveries
Neonatal resuscitation
Develop and document care plans
Collaborate with families and multidisciplinary teams
Perform neonatal procedures

Required Procedures/Skills:

Intubation
Lumbar puncture
Venipuncture
Arterial puncture
Umbilical line placement
Thoracentesis
Thoracostomy
X-ray and laboratory interpretation
TPN ordering fundamentals

Requirements:

Board Certified Neonatal NP – Required
Active Maine License or IMLC – Required
NRP Certification – Required
Epic experience – Required
COVID and Flu vaccination – Required
