Locums, Inc. is seeking a Physician Assistant to assist the Pathologist perform autopsies at the client facilities located in San Francisco, CA. Candidates will perform full post-mortem examinations to determine the presence or absence of disease. This is a long-term, multiyear assignment All state and Federal licenses accepted.
About the Opportunity:
- Period of Performance will be 9/15/20 to 9/14/21 with 4 option years
- Hours are 8am through 4:30pm, M-F
- No on-call hours, weekends or holidays
- Client facility located in downtown San Francisco
- Candidate responsibilities include:
• Collecting appropriate post-mortem tissue samples and fluid samples for evaluation
• Correlating the gross pathology with patient’s clinical disposition and presents findings to Pathologist
• Preparation of the dissection suite instruments and equipment
• Conducting primary dissection of patient
• Cleaning and decontamination of the morgue and dissection suite
• Preparation of patient for receipt by mortician
• Preparing and storing specimens, slides, and blocks for weekly organ demonstrations in the Client’s Pathology service
Requirements:
- Active and unrestricted state or Federal Physician Assistant license
- Has thorough familiarity with normal and abnormal human anatomy
- Has thorough understanding of surgical methodology for dissection
