We are seeking two skilled Nurse Practitioners (NP) or Physician Assistants (PA) for a locum tenens opportunity in Michigan. This is an urgent need to cover neuro surgery responsibilities while permanent providers are being recruited.

Position Overview:

• Location: Near Marysville, MI


• Job Title: NP/PA - Surgery - Neuro


• Shift Type: Nights, in-house coverage from 6:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.


• Shift Schedule: One weekend every four weeks


• Coverage Dates: November 10, 2024 – February 10, 2025


• Job Type: Locum Tenens (with potential for permanent placement)


• Hours: Full-time, Night Shifts


• Specialty: Neurosurgery


• Setting: Inpatient, hospital-based


• Facility Level: Level 1 Trauma Center with Comprehensive Stroke designation

Key Responsibilities:

• Rounding, consults, and postoperative care for neuro surgery patients


• No first assist or procedural work required


• Basic understanding of acute neurosurgical emergencies, stroke care, ICU care, and postoperative management required


• Simple procedures such as minor suture repairs for lacerations


• Work autonomously with a supervising physician available on-call off-site 24/7


• EMR system used: eCare/Cerner

Requirements:

• Board Certification: ANCC, AANP, or NCCPA required


• Active Michigan License: Required


• BLS, ENLS, NIHSS certifications: Required


• Clean background: Required


• MI Addressed DEA: Verbal confirmation required


• Experience: Must have experience in neuro surgery, stroke care, or critical care settings


• No new graduates: Must have prior experience


• Weekend coverage: One weekend every four weeks
