Join Our Dynamic Team as a PCU Registered Nurse!
Are you a dedicated and compassionate RN eager to make a difference in a fast-paced, specialized surgical oncology unit? We are seeking a highly skilled PCU Registered Nurse to provide exceptional patient care on our busy 16-week, night shift at James Surg Onc. This pivotal role offers an exciting opportunity to work in a vibrant, multi-acuity environment, caring for adult and geriatric patients with complex diagnoses including cancers and surgical conditions. Required Skills:
- Valid RN license and active state licensure
- Minimum of 2 years of medical-surgical or PCU experience
- Strong knowledge of oncology patient care, chemotherapy, blood transfusions, and IV therapy
- Proficiency with electronic charting systems, preferably EPIC
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
- Ability to handle diverse patient needs and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent critical thinking, communication, and team collaboration skills
Nice to Have Skills:
- Oncology-specific certifications such as ONS Chemotherapy
- Experience with infection control and fall prevention protocols
- Comfort with complex procedures like cytokine release syndrome management and insulin/heparin drips
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- Prior experience in a surgical oncology or mixed acuity unit
Other Requirements:
- Must be willing to work nights on a 3x12-hour shift schedule (19:00 - 07:30)
- Ability to self-schedule and communicate preferred shifts and availability
- Starting date: June 15, 2026
