The Brenham State Supported Living Center (SSLC) is seeking a Psychiatrist III to join an interdisciplinary team of professionals to provide clinical care to residents of the SSLC. As a State Supported Living Center [enter clinical position], you will work at the SSLC campus with a dynamic group of staff and professionals who are dedicated to providing supports and services for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Performs highly advanced and/or managerial (senior-level) psychiatric work. Work involves directing psychiatric activities, monitoring trends and activities, diagnosing and treating patients, and administering specialized psychiatric treatments and procedures. May plan, assign, and/or supervise the work of others. Works under minimal supervision, with extensive latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.

Skills

Registration or Licensure Requirements:
Texas Medical License – Unrestricted; and Board certification or board eligibility in psychiatry; and a DEA Certificate – Unrestricted.
Initial Selection Criteria:
1.  Medical License in Texas 2.  Board certification or board eligibility in psychiatry 3. DEA number 4.  Work experience with evidence based medication 5.  Experience working with people with mental illness and intellectual disabilities preferred
