Director of Labor and Delivery or Women's Services Nurse needed to join a fantastic team in VA

The position is with a 100-bed community hospital in western VA, right in the Blue Ridge Mountains. It's a very safe and friendly community as well as beautiful with the mountains, rivers, lakes and streams. It's a great place to live for all ages as it promotes a work-life balance as well as is close enough to larger cities without being in the center of activity. 

Candidates for this role must have the following:

• Bachelors degree in Nursing
• BCLS, ACLS and PALS
• 3+ years previous leadreship experience in a Labor and Delivery/Nursery/Post Partum/Gyn
• STABLEare strongly preferred
• Basic Fetal Monitoring, NRP, and ACLS are required 

The Women’s Center Nurse provides care for patients with various types of obstetrical, gynecological and/or newborn situations. The RN must be able to recognize, triage, assess and effectively treat life-threatening conditions of the obstetrical patient and transfer that patient to a higher level of care if necessary. You also must be able to assess a newborn, recognize anomalies, transfer a newborn to a higher level of care if necessary, and educate the mother and family unit of newborn care.

The director needs to be able to effectively communicate with their department, patients & families and ancillary staff. Must have experience managing 10+ FTE's.
