We are seeking a talented Telemetry Nurse to join our growing facility’s brand-new Medical-Surgical/Telemetry unit. Required Skills:
- Valid RN license in good standing
- Minimum of 2 years of recent acute care experience, including medical-surgical and telemetry units
- Proficiency in EKG interpretation and passing the required EKG competency exam
- Strong wound management skills, including JP drains, wound vacs, and catheter care
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Excellent communication and critical thinking skills
- BLS, ACLS, NIHSS certifications are mandatory
Nice to Have Skills:
- Experience with hemodialysis catheter care and PCA management
- Knowledge of Meditech Expanse EMR system and IV pump operation
- Prior experience working with complex patient populations such as post-op, CHF, COPD, or COVID-19 patients
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- At least 2 years of recent hospital-based RN experience in a similar setting
- Previous telemetry or ICU experience is a plus
Other Requirements:
- Certification in BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS required before start date
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including every other weekend, 2-3 holidays per year, and rotating shifts (4 days one week, 3 days the next)
- Willingness to float to other Med-Surg units within the hospital as needed
- No on-call required; scheduled shifts only
- Parking permit in designated free parking areas
- Uniform: Pewter scrubs; gray, white, or black T-shirts with WK monogram; gray or black jackets; badges worn above the waist at all times
