What You’ll Do:
As a Respiratory Therapist, you will deliver advanced respiratory therapy services in various settings including ED, ICU, Stepdown, NICU, PICU, and L&D, supporting high-risk deliveries and complex patient conditions. Your expertise will help improve patient outcomes through procedures such as intubation, airway management, ventilator support, ABG analysis, and inhaled medication administration, including nitric oxide. You'll also participate in emergency responses and support neonatal and pediatric critical care, ensuring top-tier patient safety and comfort.
Required Skills:
- Minimum of 2+ years of clinical experience in acute care environments
- Proven experience with high-risk deliveries, NICU/PICU support, and neonatal intubation
- Proficiency in airway and ventilator management, ABG analysis, and non-invasive ventilation
- Strong ability to respond rapidly during Code Blue and rapid response situations
- Comfortable working with neonatal and pediatric patient populations
- Certification in BLS, NRP (required), ACLS & PALS (preferred)
- Active NBRC national accreditation and LA state licensure
- Valid driver’s license for floating between multiple campuses
Nice to Have Skills:
- Experience with advanced equipment like Servo U, Trilogy, Vapotherm, and NICU oscillators
- Prior exposure to ECMO or additional specialized respiratory procedures
- Bilingual abilities or strong interpersonal communication skills
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) strongly preferred; CRT accepted with relevant experience
- Previous travel therapy experience, especially within multi-campus healthcare systems
Other Requirements:
- Flexibility to float across four different campuses within 20-25 minutes driving distance
- Willingness to work 36/48 hour shifts on a rotating schedule, including weekends and holidays
- Participation in orientation sessions and ongoing training programs
- Ability to take on call shifts (2 per month) with minimal minimum of 2 hours
- Willingness to work both ground and air transport support when required
