Join Our Team as a Temp Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) in Long Term Care – Kerrville, TX

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Temp Occupational Therapy Assistant to play a vital role in providing exceptional rehabilitative care in a Long Term Care setting. What You Will Do:
- Support patient-centered clinical interventions using evidence-based practices under the supervision of licensed Occupational Therapists.
- Deliver rehabilitative treatments such as ADL retraining, therapeutic activities, exercises, modalities, and assistive device use to patients with cognitive and physical functioning challenges.
- Assess patient progress and collaborate with supervising therapists to tailor treatment plans for optimal outcomes.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, caregivers, and healthcare team members regarding therapy progress and barriers.
- Document all services accurately in electronic records, ensuring compliance with regulatory and clinical standards.
- Participate actively in team meetings, trainings, and conferences to stay current with best practices.
- Support patient discharge planning and contribute to comprehensive documentation and reporting.
- Supervise and mentor students, supporting their learning and professional development.
- Maintain adherence to NBCOT/AOTA standards, state licensure, and ethical guidelines.
Required Skills:
- Valid State Licensure/Registration as an Occupational Therapy Assistant.
- Proven ability to implement evidence-based therapy interventions.
- Excellent communication skills for collaborating with team members and engaging with patients.
- Strong documentation skills ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Flexibility to adapt to patient needs and treatment plans.
Nice to Have Skills:
- Previous experience in long-term care or rehabilitation settings.
- Bilingual skills to better serve diverse patient populations.
- Knowledge of DME procurement and supply management.
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Successful completion of an accredited OTA program.
- Prior experience in a long-term care facility is preferred but not mandatory.
- Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems.
Other Requirements:
- Able to work daytime hours, scheduled as per the facility’s needs.
- Compliance with all OSHA, regulatory, and safety standards.
- Willingness to participate in ongoing professional development.
