Temp - PT - Long Term Care (LTC) (Days) Lowell, MA
Join our dynamic healthcare team in Lowell, MA, as a dedicated Physical Therapist in our Long Term Care (LTC) setting! What You'll Do:
- Perform comprehensive screenings, evaluations, and develop personalized care plans for patients with physical functioning disorders and wound care needs.
- Implement evidence-based clinical interventions, including manual techniques, therapeutic exercises, modalities, and assistive device support.
- Monitor patient progress, adjust treatments accordingly, and document outcomes in compliance with regulatory and clinical standards.
- Provide counseling and education to patients, families, and caregivers to promote optimal recovery.
- Collaborate effectively with the healthcare team and ensure thorough communication regarding patient care.
- Support supervision of rehabilitation aides, students, and support staff as needed.
- Maintain accurate documentation and participate in team meetings, trainings, and conferences.
Required Skills:
- Valid Physical Therapist license in the state of Massachusetts.
- Proven experience in long-term care, rehabilitation, or a similar setting.
- Strong knowledge of wound care, therapeutic exercises, and assistive devices.
- Excellent communication, documentation, and patient care skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Nice to Have Skills:
- Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
- Additional certifications in wound care or specialized therapies.
- Bilingual abilities to assist diverse patient populations.
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy program with relevant clinical experience.
- Prior work experience in long-term care or skilled nursing facilities.
Other Requirements:
- Ability to work weekdays with daytime hours.
- Willingness to obtain any necessary DME or supplies.
- Commitment to adhering to APTA codes, state practice acts, and ethical standards.
- Possession of or willingness to obtain certifications related to treatment modalities or specialties.
