Description
We are seeking a Pediatric Anesthesiology Anesthetist for a 1-day assignment in VA, starting Jun 1, 2026. This role involves providing essential pediatric pre-procedure anxiety management, autism-sensitive care, and IV-start support. The schedule for this crucial position is 8am - 12pm, focusing on helping children remain calm and comfortable for short IV placements, ensuring a safe and low-stress process.
Responsibilities and Duties - Review the child’s age, weight, history, medication list, allergies, and prior response to sedation or anxiety medication
- Advise on whether the child should instead receive in-office monitored anxiolysis or sedation
- Determine what monitoring, emergency equipment, documentation, and discharge criteria would be required
