What You Will Do:
- Deliver high-quality nursing care to adult oncology patients, including those with solid tumors, orthopedic, and thoracic cancers.
- Utilize advanced monitors, infusion pumps, and other specialized equipment.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Demonstrate proficiency in procedures such as managing IV lines, ports, blood products, chest tubes, and non-invasive airway management.
- Rapidly respond to patient needs using your knowledge of dysrhythmia interpretation and emergency protocols.
- Maintain strict infection prevention and patient safety standards.
Required Skills:
- Minimum of 2 years of high-acuity PCU or telemetry experience.
- Strong knowledge of dysrhythmias, cardiac and blood product administration, and central line management.
- Expertise in IV start, heparin and cardiac drip protocols, and use of monitors like GE telemetry systems.
- Certification in BCLS, ACLS, and NIH.
- Ability to float safely within units of similar or lower acuity.
- Excellent communication and critical thinking skills.
Nice to Have Skills:
- Experience with chemotherapy administration and monitoring.
- Management of arterial lines, wound care, and wound vacs.
- Advanced airway management, including BiPAP, HFNC, and tracheostomy.
- Skills in blood glucose management with IV insulin protocols.
- Previous travel nursing experience.
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Nursing degree from an accredited program.
- At least 2 years of oncology or telemetry nursing experience.
Other Requirements:
- Current licenses and certifications as specified.
- Ability to work 12-hour day or night shifts, with flexible scheduling options.
- Reliable with a strong commitment to patient safety and quality care.
