Located in Portsmouth, NH, Portsmouth Regional Hospital is a 220-bed facility, and the only Level II Trauma facility on the Seacoast. StaRN Plus Program – Emergency Department – 14 Weeks
Our Specialty Training Apprenticeship for Registered Nurses (StaRN) program is innovatively designed to provide intense specialty training to experience licensed nurses.
· 7 weeks didactic training that combines:
o Classroom discussions & case studies
o Hands-on skills training
o Robust Simulation Experience
· 7 weeks of unit based clinical preceptorship
· Certifications achieved: AHA, BLS, ACLS, PALS, ENPC, TNCC, NIH Stroke Scale, and CPI
Additional Information about Our Emergency Department:
- You will work on a 25-bed, progressive, full-service ER with two large trauma bays, a 4-bed fast track, and a 5-bed psychiatric pod.
- Annual volume is approximately 28,000 patients, with a seasonal increase in volume during the summer months.
