HCA - Fort Walton Beach Medical Center seeks to hire a full time Registered Nurse (RN) to provide care on our 30 bed Surgical Care Unit. POSITION SUMMARY:
A Registered Nurse on the Surgical Care Unit will care for a wide variety of general surgery patients along with other medical/surgical
diagnoses ranging from minor to complex. These will include but are not limited to: cardiac,
respiratory, gastroenterology, renal disease, neuro, endocrine, behavioral
health and infectious disease.
Fort Walton Beach Medical Center (FWBMC) is a 267-bed
full-service hospital with over 200 of the most highly respected and qualified

Qualifications EDUCATION REQUIRED AND/OR PREFERRED:
- Associate Degree, Diploma in Nursing, or BSN required
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION:
- Current FL RN license required or appropriate
compact licensure. If compact license held, active FL RN license required
within 90 days of hire.
- BLS required, ACLS within 90 days of hire required
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED OR PREFERRED:
- Acute care experience preferred
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES:
- Reads and writes Basic English with the basic skills necessary to transcribe physician's orders
- Knowledge of body substance isolation
- Ability to listen, empathize and respond to patient, family, internal and external partners needs
- Basic computer skills
