Utilization Nurse
Massachusetts
Length of Assignment: 3 months
Shift: Days
Currently seeking an experienced Utilization Nurse (RN) for a job opening in Massachusetts. The ideal candidate will possess current, unrestricted RN license in New Hampshire and must have at least 1 year of utilization review experience.
Responsibilities of the Utilization Nurse
Educate Patients on their insurance policies.
Help to maximize the cost efficiency of patients’ services.
Decide the care that is to be given to each patient that is under their care.
Review the condition of the patient and the doctor's orders and then formulate a treatment plan which is followed by the nurses.
Carefully review the insurance the patient has and then devise upon a treatment plan.
Teach the family about the treatment plan and ensure that they follow it at home.
Perform other nursing duties assigned.
Requirements of the Utilization Nurse
BSN
Current RN License
Minimum 1 year of Utilization review experience
Proven skills and experience conducting reviews, and writing appeals, with a track record of successful outcomes
Knowledge of regulatory reimbursement requirements, chart analysis and data retrieval.
